Hideo Kojima has officially announced that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released on June 26, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5. This announcement was made during a panel at SXSW 2025, accompanied by a new 10-minute trailer showcasing gameplay and story elements.

The game features the return of Norman Reedus as Sam Bridges, along with Léa Seydoux and Troy Baker reprising their roles. New additions to the cast include Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and the likeness of filmmaker George Miller. The narrative is set 11 months after the formation of the United Cities of America, introducing automated deliveries and a new opposing faction. Kojima has reworked the script to reflect his experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, Kojima announced “The Strands of Harmony World Tour,” a concert series featuring music from the game, commencing on November 8, 2025.
